Terms of Service
Welcome to AION. By creating an account or using this site you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. AION is operated by AION (the "Company"). For questions, see Section 14.
1. Who we are and what AION does
AION is a content discovery and distribution platform. The service includes a social feed, web search, news aggregation, direct messaging, an advertising platform, a publisher analytics network, and creator monetization tools (tips, subscriptions, ad revenue share, and milestone bonuses). AION is currently in beta — features may change, break, or be taken offline without notice.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use AION. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. (See Section 8 — Children.)
- If you are under 18, you may use AION only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- One human, one account. No impersonation.
- You may not use AION if you are barred from receiving the service under applicable U.S. law or other jurisdiction.
3. Your account
You are responsible for everything posted from your account and for keeping your password safe. We use email verification, optional two-factor authentication when available, and a per-IP rate limit on signups; you can also sign in via Google, GitHub, Apple, or Facebook OAuth providers when those options are enabled.
4. Content you post — you own it
You retain ownership of everything you create and post on AION. Your text, images, video, audio, comments, and direct messages are yours. By posting public content on AION, you grant AION a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, display, distribute, transcode (for media playback), index (for search), and surface that content on the service so it can be shown to other users — including in search results, news feeds, and any AION-powered surface (including third-party publishers participating in the AION Publisher Network).
This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the content has been (a) re-shared by another user, in which case it stays in their context until they delete it; or (b) retained in backups for up to 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.
You may not post anything you don't have the right to share.
5. Direct messages
Messages you send to another AION user are visible to that user (and to other participants in a group conversation). AION may scan messages automatically for spam, malware, or content that violates Section 6, but does not read message content for any other purpose. AION administrators may access message content only when investigating an active abuse report or as required by law. SMS, email, and push delivery channels are planned for future releases — separate consent will be requested before any message leaves AION's native channel.
6. Acceptable use
You may not post, send, or do anything on AION that:
- Is illegal under U.S. law or the laws of your jurisdiction.
- Sexualizes a minor in any way. We report this to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement.
- Harasses, threatens, dox, or targets a person or group based on a protected characteristic.
- Spams, scams, distributes malware, or attempts to compromise the service.
- Infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights. (See Section 11 — DMCA.)
- Impersonates a person, organization, or AION itself.
- Uses bots, scripts, or AI agents to artificially inflate engagement (likes, follows, views, tips, subs, milestone progress) or to game the AION ranking or bonus systems.
Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban. During beta we may act quickly and without appeal.
7. Search, news, analytics, and the publisher network
AION operates a web crawler over a curated list of approved domains, an RSS-driven news aggregator, and an analytics pipeline. Public content you post on AION may appear in AION search results and may be analyzed in aggregate for trending detection. AION also offers an opt-in Publisher Network in which third-party websites embed AION analytics or AION ad slots; participating publishers see only the data their own site generates, never your AION account or other users' activity.
8. Creator monetization
If you participate in AION's creator monetization features, the following applies:
- Tips and subscriptions: AION takes 0%. Tips and subscription revenue flow directly from your supporters to your own Stripe or PayPal account. AION never holds the funds. You pay only the standard fees Stripe or PayPal charges. You are responsible for the tax reporting that goes with that money.
- Ad revenue share: When AION serves an ad next to your content, AION takes 45% and pays 55% to you. This is the only category in which AION takes a cut from creator earnings.
- Bonuses: AION may pay discretionary cash bonuses for milestones (follower counts, top posts, viral hits, category leaderboards). Eligibility requires that the engagement be authentic. Use of bots, AI agents, or coordinated inauthentic behavior to inflate metrics is grounds for forfeiting bonuses and can result in account termination.
- Tax forms: AION will issue IRS Form 1099 (or your country's equivalent) for ad revenue share and bonus earnings once they cross the local reporting threshold. Tips and subscriptions are reported by your Stripe or PayPal account, not by AION.
9. Advertising
AION sells premium real-estate ad placement and auction-style inventory to advertisers. AION may display ads adjacent to your posts unless you opt out from your creator dashboard. Opting out means no ad rev share earnings — your tips and subscriptions are not affected.
10. Group moderation
Groups may have owners and moderators who can remove, mute, or ban members within their group. Group-level moderation does not override platform-wide rules.
11. Copyright and DMCA
AION respects copyright. If you believe content on AION infringes your copyright, send a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice to the address in Section 14. Your notice must include all elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3): identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the infringing material with its URL, your contact information, a statement of good faith belief, a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We respond to valid notices promptly. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated under our DMCA repeat-infringer policy.
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice with the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3).
12. Termination and account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Deletion removes your account from public view immediately and queues a permanent purge that completes within 30 days. Backups containing your data are aged out within the same window. Some content may persist beyond deletion: messages you sent to others remain visible to those recipients; reposts, mentions, and quotes by other users remain attributed to "@deleted" until the other user removes them.
AION may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put the service or other users at risk. If your account is terminated for cause, accrued earnings (ad rev share, bonuses) may be forfeited.
13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. AION does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AION's total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred dollars ($100) or (b) the amount you have paid AION in the twelve months preceding the claim.
You use third-party content at your own risk. AION displays links and embeds from external sources (search results, news articles, embedded media) but is not responsible for the content of those external sites.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this section limits your rights under any non-waivable consumer protection law of your jurisdiction.
